From Maangchi’s LA galbi recipe
INGREDIENTS: 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 1/6 cup of water, 1/6 cup of cooking wine, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 1 small onion, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 pear, 3.5 lbs of beef short ribs
DIRECTIONS: First rinse the short ribs in cold water to remove the blood and bone fragments. Wash the meat three times and then drain. Pour 1/3 cup of soy sauce, the water, the cooking wine, and sugar into your marinating container. In a food processor, add the onion, garlic, and pear. Process until smooth and pour into the container. Add ribs and let it marinate for one hour or overnight. Grill or pan fry.
NOTES: We left the ribs in for a few days and did not notice a huge difference. You may want to up the amount of garlic.
